“Karen moved to Portland from Michigan in 2005, and loves everything about Portland and the Pacific Northwest.  Her background includes childcare, teaching, and corporate life, and she is thrilled to now work in a variety of service-oriented fields where she gets to spend her days with wonderful people showing off the fun and beauty of her adopted home.  Being a part of the Urban Excursions family allows her to do both, and brings her so much joy.  In her free time she loves to go whale-watching at the coast, and her current goal is to visit all 50 states (12 to go!).”

Hello, my name is Colette Livermore and I am 2nd generation born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I have a fantastic husband, 3 amazing sons and a wonderful dog. I have experience in event planning, community development and working with older adults. I enjoy exploring, learning and helping people have fun.  I know in my heart I am meant to work and play alongside older adults which makes Urban Excursions the perfect fit for me.  I look forward to our adventures!

Hi, I’m LaTeea Martin born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I have eight years of experience as a caregiver working with all ages and backgrounds but my love for the out doors, being exposed to new things, exploring the city and still wanting to be an impact on others brought me to Urban Excursions. When I’m not working I’m usually spending time with family and friends and watching sports!

Hi There! I have been assisting and working for seniors since mid-2016 in various roles, including moving assistance, senior care facility office assistance, diet and specialized food service, and medical appointment escorting here in 3 Portland Senior Living communities. I also have special memory care and understanding training. In these roles, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and involvement with older adults, getting to know them in a personal as well as service capacity. I would often hear about some of their families, and listened with keen and heartfelt interest to their life stories they tell.

One of my life goals is to help our Seniors in positive ways. Spending supportive social time with them is so important, and I find it very rewarding to help them enjoy being in our beautiful NW outdoors and exploring all Portland has to offer through Urban Excursions all year around. I also enjoy bicycling, camping, family time, live music and home projects when I’m not on our outings!

Working for Urban Excursions has brought together two of Barbara’s great passions older adults and adventure! After seven years at Elders in Action she is thrilled to have found such a congenial group of people with whom to discover Portland’s hidden gems. After living 20 years in the Tucson she is SO happy to be in Portland (since 2006), as she is done with the sun! She lives in a quiet SE neighborhood with two dogs, Fisher and Bubba, one cat, Cara and one husband, Richard, who also works for Urban Excursions!

Richard Diffenderfer is 59 and moved to Portland from Tucson, Arizona a little over ten years ago. He felt like he’d discovered a fabulous (and cool) new planet! Besides taking Urban Excursions guests out on various adventures, he also likes to volunteer at Tryon Creek State Natural area taking first and second-graders hiking in the forest on school field trips.
