Glencoe “Ghost Town”, Old Scotch Church and Milkshakes Oh My!
Urban Excursions, Sunday Scenic Outing for seniors, landed our crew in the historic town of Glencoe, Oregon where we were able to view buildings built in the 1870’s! We were able to see Charles Walter’s Blacksmith Shop, the Old General Store and Mr. Walter’s farmhouse where he lived and worked until the 1960’s making it Washington Counties longest running Blacksmith shop. Mr. Walter died at the age of 92 and worked until he was 90!
We then ventured a little further into Washington County to the Old Scotch Church and Cemetery founded in 1870, beautiful bucolic church and perfect for viewing from the comfort of our Urban Excursion Shuttle Bus on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
And finally, what better way to wrap up our afternoon then at the Skyline Burger for milkshakes with new friends. These senior activities have become so much fun and we are making new friends every week! This week we welcomed Ted to our Excursionite Family as well as our new Cruise Director, Tia!
