Urban Excursions loves summer and spending as much time being out and about on our senior outings! We spent many days enjoying riverside luncheons at some of our favorites including Salty’s, Beaches, Island Cafe and of course the newly rennovated Vancouver Waterfront! As we say goodbye to the dog days of summer, we are thankful to have had a fun-filled summer with new friends in the sunshine!

Our Senior Outings continue to grow with more friends and fun in the summer! We have been taking advantage of the sunny days to visit some fun outdoor spots and to take in beautiful country settings including the Marquam Hill Alpaca Farm , Sauvie Island, Herman the Sturgeon at Bonneville Dam and one of our favorites, lunch at Skamania Lodge in the Columbia River Gorge! We’ve been celebrating a wonderful spring season with our older adults at Urban Excursions! Our senior outings have been in full bloom each time we went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn. We soared over the city on the Portland Aerial Tram then enjoyed lunch at Little Big Burger. More senior activities took us on a history tour to Willamette Falls in Oregon City and enjoying Noodle Month at a variety of restaurants around town. We loved the warmer weather and seeing that Spring has Sprung!

Urban Excursions had such a fun time this autumn on our senior outings and we have been thankful for the beautiful weather! We loved watching the leaves change color and spread all over the city. Thank you to our partners for supporting our cherished community members and our senior trips: Skamania Lodge, NW Senior Theater, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Tualatin Wildlife Refuge, Portland Train Ride, and Fort Vancouver for the Veteran’s Day Parade. Urban Excursions continues to offer fun things to do for seniors in our community and we haven’t slowed down for fall! Our senior trips have been embracing the change in weather to enjoy fun outings with friends and watching the seasons change. We enjoyed fun trips to Oregon Heritage Farm, The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island, autumn wine tasting at Helvetia Winery and of course, autumn would not be complete without our annual trip to the Flock and Fiber Festival!

Urban Excursions had a whirlwind summer of fun on our senior outings! Thanks to all of our community partners like PDX Pedicab, Kruger Farm, McMenamins in Kalama and of course, all the fun wineries we visited including Blakeslee Vineyards, Ponzi Winery, and Kramer Vineyards! We won’t forget all of the Portland Farmer’s Market’s and of course the the flowers, flowers, and more flowers. We started our season at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Then went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival and ended with the Swan Island Dahlia Farm Festival. So much fun we had, friends we connected with and memories made! We can’t wait for Autumn!

So, this happened today! Urban Excursions went to the Fubon Asian Market today on our senior outing. As many of you may know, we offer two different kinds of outings and today’s outing was what we call our Scenic Group which specializes in outings for people with Dementia or Alzheimer’s. After lunch, we took a stroll around the market and had some fun trying on different hats, looking at marble sculptures and the interesting items the market has to offer. Urban Excursions wants to thank Bunnies in Baskets for one of our sweetest, funnest and definitely uniquest senior outings! Today we enjoyed a delightful tea service including sandwiches, finger food, sweets and an array of teas followed by BUNNY SNUGGLES! These therapy bunnies made us all smile for the rest of the day and their little bunny snuggles were pure joy for our senior activity today!
