We enjoyed our Senior Outing yesterday to Lan Su’s Chinese Garden in the heart of Portland’s Old Town. Introducing our newest Excursionite, Shirely! A recent transplant from Miami we got to explore Oregon’s famous Bob’s Red Mill this afternoon. Shirley has been enjoying going to the Hollywood Senior Center but was very excited about getting out and about in our Adventuremobile! We love our Cruise Director Angie! Today we went to visit the Cascade Alpaca Farm outside of Hood River. As we cruised through the beautiful Columbia River Gorge we took in all of the beautiful vistas and got to see the frozen waterfalls all along the gorge. .what a treat! The weather ended up being a little colder than expected so we were decided that we would play it safe and not venture into the foothills of Mt. Hood and instead sought respite at the cutest coffee shop in Hood River. Today’s Urban Excursions, Senior Outing was “Out of this world”! One of my favorite guests, Dee (as seen from space below) joined her husband Larry and four others on another exciting senior adventure! Dee and Larry have not been able to live together due to various age-related reasons and it is always very special when they can reunite over an Urban Excursion. Our shuttle bus is able pick each of them up at their respective homes and reunite them for four fun-filled hours. Today brought us to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) where our Excursionites viewed Secrets of the Sun in the Planetarium. The sun was shining, the sky was a perfect blue, and the van was full of laughter.
